All too soon, it is time for Tye’s baby to be born. Thanks to Virginia’s research and the wonderful people they met in Strangetown, the family is prepared for the little alien child about to be born.

He is small and green, with some kind of bluish freckling on his face and the biggest black eyes Viriginia had ever seen. But he was cute and he was Tye’s, so she loved him anyway. They name him Tiber.
With three children in the house, life is busy for the Ladysmiths. Virginia and Tye decide to hire a nanny. This is no easy task because first they must find one who doesn’t hold some kind of grudge against Virginia’s family. Sure, some of the younger generations have granted her forgiveness for their “sins” (as it were), but most of the older folks still held onto the old hatred. They went through three nannies before finding one who appeared to like all three children and would look after them for a reasonable price.
However, even then, there was tension. Tye, especially, felt as if the nanny was prejudiced against Tiber and he came to dislike almost as much as the kids loved her.
All this time, Virginia has been adding to her journal, as well as the photo album she’d started when Wenona was a toddler.
There is little news from Jessie these days. He writes emails and calls occasionally, updating her on his research and now… his life. Jessie fell in love with another woman, at long last. The letter which revealed this was long and rambling, while Jessie spoke of his hesitance to give his heart to another and how his Amelie won him over with her gentle heart and compassion. She was a librarian with an interest in local history and she was helping him to sort through all the research he’d found.
“It’s good that Jessie has found someone,” Virginia told Tye after she read his letter. “He has been lonely for so long.”
“Honestly, my darling, I thought he’d never get over you.”
“Oh, stop it, Tye! You’re making me blush!”

“How about I kiss you instead?”
…
Once Tiber is school aged and no longer in need of a full time nanny, the family goes on a vacation to the Far East.

Virginia and Tye spend a rainy afternoon speaking to a local wise man. Virginia finds herself telling the quaint old man about her family, the town and the curse. The old man tells her to pour out tea and he reads the leaves to her, like a fortune. He tells her that her family must come full circle before the curse can be absolved. He also tells her that they must be in tune with the world around them.
When the family return home, they decide to take up hiking as a hobby. They got to parks on the weekends. Virginia and Wenona both become interested in birdwatching. This is something that relaxes them all and Viriginia feels that it brings her closer to her children. Which is a good thing, because they are all teenagers now and very busy with their lives and school.

Wenona has a new boyfriend, Gordon Nott. She spends a lot of time with him. Perhaps too much time, Tye seems to be of the opinion.

And Wilson is busy being his awesomest self. Or so *he* is of the opinion.

Time passes and Virginia finds herself (and Tye along with her) growing older. She isn’t a young woman anymore and she isn’t sure when the times have gone. So much has changed in the years she’s been living in Ladysmith, the town which bears her name. She has just been elected the Minister of Education for the town, a position she could never have believed possible when she first moved here. More importantly, the town seems to have finally accepted her, though a few still question her about the missing baby.
The family once again heads on vacation, this time on a camping trip. This will be Wenona’s last summer at home before college and they want to make it memorable.
When they return, Wenona readies herself for college. For Virginia, this is a bittersweet time. She is happy and excited for her daughter, but feels as if something is missing.

One day, she is inspired to take painting lessons.

As she paints, a clear image begins to take form… but what does it mean?

And now for some pictures that didn’t make it into the story.

Tye trying to lose some of the “baby fat’ he acquired being pregnant with Tiber.

The animal control officer who came to deliver their cat. Her name is Elizabeth Taylor. *blinks* No, I’m not kidding. Liz Taylor.

Wenona & Gordon in the hot tub.
And some adventures in hiking…

Virginia and Tye both get poison ivy.

Wenona is attacked by bees.

This hot looking guy is Christopher Warwick, from Simrenity’s Founder Challenge story. He started out as a random walkby, but now he comes by the house two or three times a day. He even invited himself to Virginia’s birthday and frequetly calls her. It’s kind of stalkery, and even creepier when you consider that he is gen 2 of Simrenity’s version of ‘Virginia.’ He’s… almost her son!

Sandi, the cat.

Hardimos, the other cat. They don’t like each other, so I can’t convince them to have kittens.

The obligatory shot of Wenona practicing her dancing.
And now… onto Gen 2!
